The Light Space is a professional photography training for survivors of human trafficking and those vulnerable to trafficking and gender based violence. The goal of the program is to teach photography both as a vocational training and as a tool for empowerment and self expression.
The training program is an educational experience that focuses on healing through photography, practical skills to take into the workplace, and real world experience in photography as a career. We teach Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as how to build a portfolio. Both local and international instructors are on faculty.
The Light Space is in partnership with US based fine art photographer, Brooke Shaden, US based non-profit Blossomy Project who together, co-founded the project. TLS is a project of registered 501C(3) Blossomy Project.
The Light Space is currently in Lesvos, Greece in partnership with Together for Better Days and operates at Gekko Kids. This program offers classes to unaccompanied minor refugees.
TLS operates in India, Thailand and Greece.
